Lisbon was the first place we visited on our trip. It was the Spring of 2013 and the flowers were blooming and it was a gorgeous 25-30 degrees Celsius. We catapulted ourselves from a cold and wet Toronto to almost tropical conditions.
At that point we had no idea it would turn out to be the longest Summer of our lives. We spent 7.5 months traveling in Europe and experienced cool Fall weather for just the last 4 weeks in North Eastern Europe. The rest of the time it was very sunny and warm. We picked a great year to go.
Here we are settling in at Pastelaria 31, a nice outdoor cafe on R. Jardim do Tobaco directly across from the Museu do Fado. Like many European cities, Lisbon is an incredible place to grab a espresso, take in the scenery, and catch some rays.
Below is the view to our right from where we were sitting. Another cafe nestled in the tight streets.
