After taking a peak at Jimena de la Frontera we continued on to Gaucín where we switched from the A-405 to road A-369. Gaucín also has a medieval castle perched above the town. Gaucín is known for its spectacular views of Gibraltar and is also referred to as the balcony of the Ronda Mountains. Tourists use it as a base to visit the famous white hill towns or pueblos blancos of Andalusia that are nearby. We kind of blew by this town and used Ronda as our base. Gaucín is surrounded by cork trees, and you will find stuff made of cork sold in the town.
Here are a couple shots from the curvy hilly highway.
