The Catedral de Santa María de la Sede or more simply the Seville Cathedral is the biggest gothic cathedral in the world, and the third largest church in the world. It is pretty wild to look at and unlike any other cathedral I have seen. It was completed in the early 16th century and officially replaced the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul (we will get there later in this European Adventure) as the worlds biggest cathedral of that time. It held this title for almost a thousand years. The Seville Cathedral also happens to be the burial spot of Christopher Columbus. The dome has collapsed several times since 1506. The Cathedral of Seville is the main event to check out in this Spanish city.
